The first Good Friday was a dark day. We are told that while Jesus was on the cross, the sun was darkened from about noon till 3 pm. It was the time of physical suffering and spiritual darkness as the sin of the world was put upon Jesus Christ, taking our evil and its punishment that we might go free.

It was because of this sacrifice and because of Christ's victory over death and punishment, his return to life on Easter Day, that Christians around the world can celebrate new freedom to be all that we were created to be.

At the combined E1 and E4 cell group Good Friday social, we enjoyed perfect weather, good food and great friends. All made possible because of what Christ did for us on that dark Friday. Praise God !
